La Manzanilla, Jalisco, Mexico

Boca de Iguanas is on the Bay of Tenacatita, along the Costa Alegre, a few minutes drive from La Manzanilla. Be mindful in the town of La Manzanilla, you must have cash. No-one took credit cards and the nearest ATM/Bank is in San Patricio, about 25km south.

There is great snorkeling right before Melaque and, of course, the quaint beach town of La Manzanilla has lots going on daily.

Be sure to take the afternoon “mangrove tour”. It is fascinating to see the crocs, birds and wildlife. Make reservations for about 6pm. Take your camera!

From the condo you can see the dolphins swim by while you have your morning cup of coffee.

Late December  through March the whales bring their young to play right out in front!

You can rent a number of fishing boats to whale watch, turtle watch and to fish.

The Sea Turtles seasonally  lay their eggs in the sand and on your early morning beach walks you will see baby turtles clamoring out to sea upon hatching. Be sure not to touch them or they will lose their natural tracking instinct.

The ocean view from the terrace changes with the seasons. In holiday seasons there will be umbrellas and food stands on the beach  and maybe even  a few cars, while during the off season you might see just a few tables and  umbrellas. You will always have the ocean view!
